1. Introduction

DataPad ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit our website (https://datapad.dev) and use our online tools.

DataPad is a 100% client-side application. All CSV parsing, JSON formatting, file editing, and data transformation happens locally in your web browser. Your files, documents, and any data you work with are never uploaded, transmitted, or stored on our servers — because we don't have any.

2. Information We Collect

Because DataPad runs entirely in your browser, we collect minimal information:

a) Automatically Collected (via Third-Party Services)

b) Information You Voluntarily Provide

Feedback Form (Google Forms) — If you submit feedback via our feedback form, any information you include (such as your email address or description of a bug) is collected by Google Forms and used solely to respond to your submission. Feedback Form — If you contact us via our any information you provide is used solely to respond to your submission.

3. Data Storage & Processing

Your files stay on your device. Here is exactly what happens when you use a DataPad tool: CSV Editor / JSON Editor — Files you open are read entirely in your browser using JavaScript. We use the File System Access API (Chromium browsers) or standard file upload dialogs. No data is sent to any server. IndexedDB (Dexie) — If you save a document in our built-in library, it is stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB database. This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time via your browser settings. localStorage — We store your language preference (datapad-locale) and theme preference locally. This is not accessible to us or any third party.

4. Cookies & Google AdSense

DataPad itself does not set any cookies. However, we use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense may place cookies on your browser for the following purposes:
  • To serve relevant advertisements based on your previous visits to this and other websites
